Love Island and Hollywood are not two things we usually associate with each other.
On the ITV dating show being called ‘a liar and an actress’ is offensive; who can forget Davide Sanclimenti shouting it at Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu?
However, for a handful of islanders it’s now the ultimate compliment.
They’ve swapped bikinis, grafting and firepit chats for scripts, costumes and starring roles.
Here are the reality stars making movie magic (outside of movie night)…
Jake Cornish
In 2021, Jake told Liberty Poole ‘you’re my girlfriend’ quite a few times, but hopefully the script for his new film is a little less repetitive and more imaginative.
The 25-year-old announced his new ‘big role’ on Instagram writing: ‘Meet DI Jacobs 👨🏻💼 Over the moon to announce that I am playing such a big role in the new @mrhyde_2022 untold story film 🎥’.
He added that it was ‘a pleasure to be working alongside such an amazing cast and production team.’
Although this career choice is seemingly random Jake revealed that he’s ‘always wanted to be involved in films’, and he ‘can’t wait to get started’.
The ominous tagline for the film is: ‘Imagine if everything you’ve heard so far is a lie.’ I’d rather not, to be honest.
His co-star is Adam Astill, who has appeared in Holby City and Eastenders.
Olivia Hawkins
Before she entered the Love Island villa this year, Olivia already had plenty of experience being on camera.
Olivia, 27, played a waitress in James Bond: No Time to Die, a partygoer in Top Boy, as well as small parts on Eastenders, Grace and Queens of Mystery.
She also served as a body double for Emma Watson and Michelle Keegan.
On top of all that, Olivia has worked alongside Jason Statham and felt lucky to have ‘a nice 10-minute convo about life’ with the legendary actor.
Tasha Ghouri
The excitement is building for the new Barbie movie, and Tasha could have been a part of it all.
Tasha, 23, who made history as Love Island’s first-ever deaf contestant, auditioned for a part as a dancer in Barbie.
She wrote on Twitter: ‘Fun fact I got to the final round of the Barbie film audition as a dancer but didn’t get the job – filming was at same time as LI [Love Island], crazy how the universe works.’
While she may have got to rub shoulders with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling if successful, she instead got to meet boyfriend Andrew Le Page.
The model and dancer was also able to snap the role of Barbie in the villa during the heartbeat challenge. That was a main character moment for sure.
Jack Fincham
Jack, who won the 2018 series with Dani Dyer, caught the acting bug after working on gangster film The Last Heist with Dapper Laughs at the end of the last year.
Jack may permanently swap reality TV for acting with the 31-year-old saying: ‘I actually want to get into acting.’
He added to The Sun: ‘I’d love to do more films. I really enjoyed it.’
Just last month the former TOWIE star hinted that he hadn’t given up on his dream when he wrote on Instagram: ‘Great night at A Town Called Malice launch for @skytv. Great crowd, met some amazing people , Movie making legends. Watch this space. Grateful’
We’re watching the space Jack!
Dani Dyer
With Danny Dyer as her dad, it’s hardly surprising that Dani took an interest in acting.
Dani, 26, has starred in many low-budget UK films including Vendetta and Run for Your Wife alongside her dad, while still a teenager. Much more interesting than most people’s first job!
She ventured out on her own in We Still Kill the Old Way and Bonded by Blood in her early twenties, before turning her hand to reality TV.
Her most recent acting credit is playing a pregnant taxi driver on Eastenders, who was rushed to hospital by Mick (Danny Dyer) when her labour suddenly and unexpectedly began.
